Yesterday, I walked into the ocean. I waded up to my hips, then my chest and then swam past the waves and into the deep.
Yesterday, I forgave the sea.
I surrendered to its unrelenting waves and accepted it for what it is, the setting of my father's death but not the cause.
Yesterday, I swam in the ocean and let go.
It hurt me and freed me at the same time.
And eight weeks later, my life turned inside out and upside down - but I am still standing. Shaken. Different. Shifted. But still here, still me.

Profound.
