We made it!

My mother keeps telling me January is her least favorite month and I keep trying to change her mind and tell her how great this month is....I'm lying. January is awful - each year something bad happens. We almost made it out unscathed this year....almost....

Tuesday afternoon my car started to smell of smoke and began making louder than usual noises. B took it into the mechanics for an estimate...the quote was obscene. As he was driving home B called and we were both raving about how there was no way we were going to pay that much to fix the car, it was running just fine - maybe loud but it was running and then....the powersteering went out. Brannon coasted into our driveway with smoke pouring out of the hood. When he attempted to restart the car we heard something fall out of the engine....it was a belt.

On a positive note, the car did die in the driveway.

Last week was not one of our best but this weekend was lovely. Saturday was filled with friends and fun. I had the boys out the entire day, Brannon got all his studying done AND cleaned the entire house. And then of course, something happened as it often does....

You know how some children can be told not to touch something and they listen....that is not my child. My child can be told everyday that the stove is hot and will burn him but until he burns himself he won't stop trying to touch it.

Ben got hold of a razor and decided to shave. Luckily he only nicked his lip but lips bleed...a lot....

Ben survived.

Sunday was fabulous. We made it to church and even got a seat. It was 60 degrees out! We played in the court, had a picnic on our driveway and went for a hike with some of our favorite people.






We survived January - only one day left, I think we'll make it.
